My favourite Japanese painting artist.

I have several painters who have influenced me.

My favourite painter is Shoen Uemura.

She was a very hard-working painter who was the first female painter to win the Japanese Order of Cultural Merit.

When a retrospective exhibition of her work was held at the Yamatane Museum of Art in Tokyo, there was an exhibition comparing a painting she did when she was 35 with one she did when she was 65.

By far, the painting she painted when she was 65 was stronger.

I wanted to be that kind of painter.
