Sachi Oizumi is a Japanese-born contemporary Nihonga artist based in Brisbane, Australia.

Working with traditional Nihonga materials including mineral pigments, gofun (shell-white pigment), washi paper, and gold and silver leaf, she creates paintings that explore memory, nature and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

Her work draws inspiration from both Japan and Australia, weaving together landscapes, flora, fauna and personal memory into a visual language that balances tradition with contemporary expression. Through the slow, tactile process of Nihonga, she seeks to create moments of stillness, reflection and connection.

Oizumi's work has been recognised in a number of Australian art awards and exhibitions, including the Brisbane Rotary Art Show, the Lethbridge Landscape Prize, the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award and the Clayton Utz Art Award.

Alongside her fine art practice, she has worked professionally as an illustrator for more than two decades, bringing together storytelling, observation and craftsmanship across traditional and contemporary media.
